40 miles today on the trails in Madison County, IL.
It was around 30 degrees when we (Mark, Ken & myself) started out just after 9 AM, with very little wind. We were fairly vigilant about potential icey spots & any spots that might have reminents of Monday's snow. There were really only a couple bad spots in the Collinsville area. One was about an 8 ft section of snow covered ice that actually looked slushie, but Mark found out it wasn't when he went down, and Ken could totally avoid him, hitting him in the back with one of his pedals. Mark turned out to be OK, but probably has a deep bruise in his left hip. We made our way to Edwardsville, and enjoyed a late lunch at Sgt Pepper's Cafe, before returning to the start/finish near the SIUE campus.
