 Let it snow!
Coming into this week I needed to get at least 2.5 commutes to/from work, on my last three working days of the year, to reach the 100 mark and about 55 miles to reach the 4,000 mile mark for the year. The forecast was calling for snow to move into the area on Wednesday evening, which, assuming round-trips on Mon & Tues, would allow for me to ride to work to complete my 100th, and then I'd get a lift home. Well, as the week progressed, I did get round-trip commutes on Mon & Tues, taking the 'long' way to add a couple more miles to my log, but the snow was moving in to the area early Wed morning and continuing during the AM rush hour. So, when would it move out, and how would the streets be during the PM rush? Well, the morning weather reports were saying the snow would be gone by lunch and just a chance of rain in the evening - that's just the window I would need.

I loaded my bike in the back of my truck, and packed my travel bag with my bike gear (when I usually pack it with my clothes for work), and had Jacque take me to work, with the plan that I would ride home. As the work day was drawing to a close, Jacque was able to report to me that the roads were just wet - no snow piles, or anything - and radar was showing no precipitation in the area, so this would be a very doable ride home.

The ride was very pleasant. Traffic was very light, even for the 6 o'clock hour. The roads were damp, with a few puddles here & there I saw road spray from my tires on a few occassions, but my legs & feet were not getting soaked. The temp was the nicest of the three nights this week.

But hey, with my miles tonight (taking the long way again), I notched 4000.2 miles this year, and I got my 100th commute in the books.
