After coming down with the respiratory crud and being laid out for weeks, I finally got back on the bike. Even though this is a elated pace ride I figured that I'd struggle to keep up. I got dropped aswe came into TR, but figured that I'd be okay as I thought they were stopping at the Forrest for coffee. One in TR I went straight to the Forrest along with a new rider Davd, but the group wasn't there and never showed up. I ordered a cup,of hot tea and got a bag of white peach tea. It was very good. David and I sat and talked until he finished his soup and sandwich. David starts in TR, meets the grop at the zoo, then finishes in TR, so he was done. I knew that my legs were done but I had to make it home. Since I was alone I set a very relaxed pace and cut across town instead of going back to the zoo. When I crossed Poinsett a girl ran the red light and I nearly hit her. That's twice in my last few rides that has happened.
The hills at the end of the ride were a real challenge, but I made it. I see that I have lost nearly everything and have a long way to come back.
