This is my first Ice Cream Ride in over a month and a half. There were 98 of us today. although we started with 6 and George showed up as we left, Walter was at the first parking lot, and Susan was at Linky Stone Park. Ken, Steve, Don, Mike, Kimberly, and I started the ride. The ride north was fairly uneventful until we reached travelers rest and we met George Hincapie coming south down the trail. He has grown some scruffy looking whiskers, but it was still him. I hadn't seen Don since he and E.Clair went to Germany and Holland, so it was good catching up with him. It had been even longer since seeing Susan and I had an enjoyable time riding with her. Mike is recovering from cancer and recent chemo, so it was god to see him riding again. I saw him a couple of months ago at the ice cream shop and he could hardly walk, so he is making a good recovery. We also had a good talk with Jenn at the shop. Wand where Ken was considering moving the destination elsewhere for the colder months, Jenn and Anthony will be serving hot chocolate so the creamery will remain the destination. They picked up the pace coming back and Susan and I didn't make the Blue Ridge crossing, so we rode together bringing up the rear. We stopped at the first parking lot where Walter was parked and Ken gave a little speech about the ride and how successful it has been. When we left Kimberly went over the handlebars and did a face plant on the trail. I was the only one that rode to the ride, so I took off for the house. Ken and Steve blew the horn at me on East North Street. Ken and Steve said that they saw me twice this week and Don saw me two weeks ago descending on Paris Mountain. I told Kim that I had seen her on Wednesday.
