(Phase I celebration/opening was one year ago).
Took my bike stuff with me to church - changed after service was over and rode from there, making my way to the Hanley overpass. Noodled up and down the eastbound lanes - as designated by the organizers - all the way down to Kingshighway and back, stopping frequently for pictures, etc.
I then rode back to church just in time for 3:30 choir rehearsal (rehearsing for our Singing Christmas Tree scheduled for 12/18-12/20 - feefeebc.org/ )
When I first got on I-64 there was a guy on the westbound side (for pedestrians, runners, etc.) playing a bagpipe. I saw a couple guys our riding in shorts - I had to take a picture of one them, just in case some was to say I was crazy to be out here doing this...
Another interesting sight was the folks doing Yoga out there. They had their mats all fairly organized and it sounded like there were doing some sort of chant as I stopped to take a picture of them.
There were a lot more people out and about than I expected to see. Even though things got congested a couple times, there was still plenty of room for a lot more.
