     | Club: Ice Bike | | Weather Conditions: Sunny. Windy SW 20-30 mph. 44° @ start - 50° @ finish. | | Ride Description: I've felt better, but other than walking at North Pointe for an hour and fifteen minutes on Monday night, this is the first "exercise" I've gotten in since I started taking the BP drugs about a week ago. (1/27) My BP is back in the "normal" range, but the drugs make me feel like I'm 90 years old. I'll give my body a little more time to adjust to the drugs in my system.
Overall, a fun ride. And I've lost 10 pounds so far this year.

  | With temps getting up to 52° today, I tried to get out early for some Ice Biking before everything melted.
 From Roland Olson Forest Preserve...
I started east and trails were in pretty good "ice biking" conditions with mostly hard pack snow with some wet spots on ice, and some light slush. About 2.6 miles I hit the unprotected area, a stretch of trail with big snow drifts across it. The drifts were very soft and almost impossible to ride, so I turned around.

Most of the Stone Bridge Trail was very rideable hard packed snow, but there was a stretch of trail in the sun that was thawing and had no snow. That short stretch of the trail was a soft and soggy and mess of mushy moist crushed limestone. The bike will need a good cleaning.

The forecast shows above freezing temps for the next 7 days. This might be my last ice biking for a while.

I'm not sure if it shows that well, but the top and third pictures are riding on a smooth ice base covered with water. You can see the carbide studs in the tire reflecting the sunlight. Very Kool!

I changed my head badge sticker on my Super V-1 to an old school C'Dale look.
