It was cool and very windy for our weekly ride today. Five of us left the zoo parking lot - Ken, Steve, Bob, Steve, and me. We ran into Marsha along Linky Stone Park and added her to our numbers. We stopped in the parking lot at the Swamp Rabbit Cafe and talked to officer Mike while Marsha ran to the ladies room. Steve took off ahead of us and I took off to run him down. I was gaining on him until I got out in the open where the wind really slowed me down. I was riding alone with the rest behind me so I went on campus at Furman and stopped at the baseball stadium. The boys were practicing with several dads and some fans in the stands. I talked for a few minutes then headed back to the ride. I could see Marsha, Ken, and Steve ahead and had nearly caught them when I turned off at the BP station to get a drink as I had left my water bottle at home. We had our coffee and conversation at the forest but Steve wasn't there. On the ride up a girl wrecked on the awkward railroad crossing at Bramlett. She went over the handlebars and landed on her hands and knees. As we were leaving TR Bob had a cap bounce out of one of his baskets. I saw it in my peripheral vision and we went back to get it. That put us behind and we spent several miles catching the group. When we caught them the missing Steve was with them, so the group was complete. Bob ran into someone that he knew and dropped out to chat with her and Marsha dropped off at her car by Linky Stone. Steve and I rode together the rest of the way. It was chilly and windy but a good ride.
