I headed out to get an outdoor ride on my day off. I thought about a spot or two to stop for pix or a snack, but never imagined that I would make so many stops or talk to so many people. First I rode across town and entered the trail at Linky Stone Park. I stopped there and took some pix of the "informal" parking lot that the city closed. Then a couple of blocks up. I took some pix of the lot that the city built to replace it. I went on up the trail and got off at Willard Street and headed into West Greenville to see if my friend Andre and the Village Wrench was still working. There was a good sized group working on bikes. I took some pix there and talked to a lot of people. When I crossed over the tracks I noticed that the cars all had the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey on them. The circus train must be at least a half a mile long. So I took some pix there as well. I rode on to Blue Ridge and turned around there. Then it was back to the Swamp Rabbit Cafe for a cup of coffee and a cheddar and kale scone. I also got a honey and chocolate chip cookie for Cis. In the parking lot I saw Mike and a new trail deputy named Kevin. So I talked to them for a while. I was just under the overpass at Willard with I spotted a large tag in the trail. I picked it up and it was a Bike Street USA. Tag, so I pulled in at the new store. I walked in with it and a guy across the store yelled out "There it is!" After that I stopped at TTR and told Nathaniel that the computer is working fine (he had replaced the battery that morning as it was acting very odd) and got a drink of cool water. On the way home I saw that Don and E.Claire's door was open so I stopped and talked to them for quite a while. They had been to Athens for the halfway point checkup on his neck and it was a good checkup. Then I rode home. Now I'm tired out and talked out.
