  | Today I posted that I would be riding by the entrance to the zoo at 1 o'clock, but none of my fellow iders could mke it on short notice. It was barely above freezing when I left. I stopped at the zoo and saw a plane circling downtown pulling a large banner saying "Underwood for President." I took off from the zoo and found 7 TV trucks lined up along Linky Stone Park. I stopped and asked what they were doing and they were there for the Republican Debate at the Peace Center. The guys that I asked then interviewed me as a local for their political blog. I rode on up the trail and stooped at Ethyl. Ethyl is a 10 foot mobile sculpture of a running woman. It was donated by the Greenville Track Club. Across from Ethyl is a plaque and a set of bronzed running shoes belonging to the now deceased Darrell Jennewine. I rode on up to Furman and went on campus and to the baseball field. The Paladins were paracticing as the season opens in 6 days. I stopped in the stands and talked to a girl that I have seen in the stands the past four years. She is now working with the team. From there I rode to the north end of the trail and turned back down the trail. I stopped at the Swamp Rabbit Cafe and had a bowl of Not Lion's Head Soup with a large cup pf hot chocolate and an esspresso bouchon. I bought a second one for CIs. The rest of the ride home was uneventful until Iwas climbing the long hill on East North Street into the wind. That's when I discovered how pooped out I was. Even so it was a good chilly ride.
