  | Today I decided that I would ride from my back door to the back door at work to see how far it is and possibly start riding to work. I won't be a hard core commuter as I hate riding in the rain and I don't want to freeze on my way to work either. I will ride once the weather warms up and isn't raining and Cis is home. I want Cis at home so if I break down I can call for a ride home. I rode to Cleveland park and took the Swamp Rabbit south to Pleasantburg then crossed over and rode up the hill to Parkins Mill. I cut through at Fontaine and Craigwood to East Parkins Mill then took Parkins Lake and Chisolm to Ridge Road and crossed I-85 to the frontage road that goes to the back of our building. It is 8.60 miles from our back door to the rear plant entrance. I stopped outside the plant as one of our BEMs (Scot Lillis) was out working on a door. I also peaked in the rear door and saw the machines running and mail being processed. From there I rode back toward the park but cut across town to get a quarter in before getting home. I rode across to the trail and discovered a detour at Crossfit Trainers. They are tearing out a section of the trail to repair the sewage pipes. I followed the detour and rode out passed the Cafe to Blue Ridge where I turned around and rode home. I got my quarter in and figure that it will take 45 to 50 minutes to ride to work.
