Sun was out earlier in the day and took the chill out of the air so finally went out to do some climbing. Started out up Cemetary Hill and had a strong climb. Leg hung up a little on the sixteen percent section and cadence slowed way down. Legs snapped back very quickly when the grade dropped below ten percent and was very happy about that. Plan was to head over the hill to Moreland then collect some data on the climb up Bronson Hill that I remembered as being a challenging climb. Legs remained strong up the climb to Moreland though the average speed was a little low. Didn't feel too bad though as it is still early in the year and temperatures were in the thirties. Also was riding into a fifteen mile an hour headwind that didn't help. Flurries started to fall as I went over the top but climbing had kept me warm and the snow fall was actually a small thrill. Had another good climb up Bronson Hill that mapped in at a little over a mile with over four hundred feet of climbing an average grade of 6.9% and a max grade of 14% putting in the middle of the rated climbs with a rating of 1.31. Dropped down into Townsend and then down Townsend Rd into Watkins. Road surface was pretty poor and kept speed down on the descent both to miss potholes and conserve heat. Next climb was up Burdett Hill and kept a good cadence up but legs were wavering a little on the third climb of the day. Finished the day by dropping down Skyline Drive back to Montour. Had a good day climbing and kept warm and comfortable with temperature at the end of the ride topping out atforty degrees.
