I've Got Something to Say

Today was a scheduled day off from work. It is a 'travel day' for the annual trip up to Sundown Mountain Resort, a ski mountain outside of Dubuque, IA. After Jacque & I loaded up the truck, however, we drove to my work so we could participate in a blood drive for the American Red Cross co-hosted by Staples Promotional Products and Landis-Gyr - the other tenant in our building.
Upon completing the blood donation, we hit the road to head to Dubuque at about 10:45 AM. We stopped at a Burger King outside of Springfield, IL for lunch at about 12:30, and then we drove straight through to Dubuque, arriving in town around 4:30 PM.
One of the strange things this year is that there wasn't a lot of snow on the ground as we travelled up the road or even around the hotel like we are used to seeing. The temperature has been above normal the past week, but not as toasty in this neck of the woods as it has been around the STL area. Well, the ski resort has their own snow making equipment so they are able to keep the slopes covered and all runs open.
