I've Got Something to Say

Yes, due to mechanical issues with one of my vehicles I decided not to ride my bike to work today!
After not using it much over the weekend, except to go get dinner Sunday evening, I got in it Monday afternoon to go meet my wife for dinner before I went onto my basketball game, and the truck just ran/idled rough. On my way, I called my friend Joe to see if he could diagnosis it for me, but they were walking out the door to go to dinner, too, and he said he could do it after work on Tues. So, Jacque drove it (as it sputtered) Tues - Joe lives just a few blocks from where she works. The scanner code indicated a problem w/cylinder #6 - a different problem than was addressed in Nov/Dec. On Wed, we left the truck at home and I drove Jacque to work in our PT Cruiser, then went onto work myself - this works out great since she works at our church and we eat dinner at church on Wed nights before attending choir practice. Then, today, I decide not to ride, so I could take her to work (again) and pick her up on my way home. This way I could get home before dark and spend a few minutes looking at things like the spark plug wire, etc. to see if I can do quick fix to the problem.
As it turns out, the issue is not that simple, so at 5:45 I scrambled to take the truck to the shop before the closed at 6. Taking it tonight will allow me the opportunity to ride my bike to work on Friday - not having to negotiate getting the truck to the shop in the morning, then me & Jacque to our respective jobs. The only problem, then, will be picking up the truck if its fixed on Friday - but that's a detail that can be worked out when it comes around.
So, now I can do my usual Fri commute – ride to work and then ride to the bowling alley after work. Only this time Jacque will have the PT Cruiser, instead of the truck, which I have squeezed my bike into the back of once before. (NOTE to self: the bike fits better when putting the handlebars in first, after removing the front wheel - not rear wheel first like I tend to think).
