I drove to Cleveland Park to go on Ken's Sunday ride, but I put about 3 miles in before they started to get in a quarter. Eight of us started off - Ken, Mark, Susan, 3-wheeled Steve (who was riding a folding bike), three guys that I didn't know - Mark, Paul, and another rider, and me. At the beginning Susan and I fell off the pace and were chatting as we rode along. Her husbnd just bought a single speed/fixed gear bike and took it out that morning. He bought one for Susan as well, but it hasn't come in yet. They were waiting for us at Sulphur Springs, but Ken was engrossed in a conversation with Officer Mike so I went on as did Susan. We rode on to the Sunrift turn around and found Paul or Mark there as he had gone ahead. The three of us went back to the Forest where I had a decaf coffee and a raisin cookie. When the rest of the group came in Susan started asking Ken about single speeds and fixies since he rides both. I took off early in the chat time as I had to get back early to be ready for work in the morning. Just south of Furman I picked up a wheel sucker. I picked up the pace, but he was really latched on to me and I couldn't shake him. I don't mind wheel suckers so long as I know them or they say something to me. I finally pulled off at the pocket park at Sulphur Springs to take a drink and be rid of him. The rest of the ride was fairly uneventful.
