I've Got Something to Say
|
This morning started with the typical dilemma: to ride to work or not? The contributing factor this morning is the fact that we received about 1" of snow this morning. There are reports of 6"+ up in Troy, MO (northwest of here), but just an inch or two in the immediate St Louis area, and less than that south of I-70.
The street outside my house is just wet, not white, and the news is not reporting traffic issue like there was Wednesday morning. So I hemmed & hawed while eating my typical morning ‘pre-ride’ breakfast (a couple frozen waffles), then decided I would go for it. If I can just make it to work, the ride home (actually to the bowling alley tonight) shouldn’t be any problem.
I packed my bag with my change of clothes, and got dressed for the ride. Once I had everything ready to go I went out to the garage to load up the bike and noticed the rear tire was low on air. Ugh. Looks like a small leak since the tire isn’t completely flat – only about half – but flat enough that it needs to be addressed before hitting the road.
Well, I didn’t feel like dealing with it now and then riding to work, so I scrapped the idea of riding the bike, went back into the house & changed into my work clothes. Jacque said she would drive me to work & pick me up after work. I thought that would be fine. So that’s what we did.
