Temperature remained in the forties, but it rained all morning and finally got out for a ride late in the afternoon. It wasn't nearly as nice as yesterday as although the winds were more subdued the humidity was close to ninety percent. Headed out to Rock Stream with a climb to Gabriel's Junction then up SR 14A to Reading Center. Climbing was a bit better than yesterday but still well below ten miles an hour. Had about three miles of climbing for the two hills but nothing over ten percent. Ride was enjoyable to the top of the climbs but not much fun on the downgrade to Rock Stream. Road was still heavily sanded, and I and the bike were soon covered with grit. Fingers went numb soon after the start of the downhill. Did mostly coasting as increasing the speed just got more unpleasant. I did actually see some sunshine while on the higher points of the course, but clouds soon rolled back in. Spun a headwind for a few miles south on SR 14 before coasting down the long hill in Watkins. It was a bit warmer once back in the valley but still not really very nice. Had to do quite a bit of cleanup after the ride but still not ready to go back on the trainer as long it remains somewhat warm.
