The two weeks off the bike have not been kind. The free donuts that I thought were my friends have taken a toll. It was cloudy and very windy ride but the temperature in the 70s makes it hard to complain. Felt great for the first 20 miles, but that ended when I turned into a stiff headwind. Twenty miles of 18 MPH headwind really tore up my legs. Things turned pleasant after turning out of the wind south of Honey Grove. The route back on 824 and 137 turned out to be the best riding I've had around Paris. Lots of rolling hills, trees and twisting roads. Road surfaces were excellant by Texas standards and although there is little or no shoulder, the traffic is sparse and generally friendly. Grass seemed to be turning green as I rode and the peepers were making thier presence known. Ended the ride exhausted but anxious for tomorrow's ride.
