 Direct Route
Turned out to be a pretty nice day though it didn't get into the seventies as forecast. Legs felt a little heavy as I headed through the city and then into the west on SR 79. Had a following crosswind for the first twenty non-eventful miles and I just cranked them out and gandered at all the new calves and colts populating the prairie. Best part of the ride occurred the second hour of the ride as I turned onto 907 which happens to be ambush alley for dogs. Legs started to feel stronger as I muscled through five miles of rollers before hitting the flats and numerous dog sprints. Got the lungs burning during the sprints but wasn't threatened too much as I still had a decent following cross wind that helped with the speed. Fun time was over when I turned back into the wind on 271 and was treated to eleven miles of in your face prairie wind. Speed and effort dropped considerably and was quite happy when the ride ended.
