I was busy with things today and couldn't get on the road until after 2:30. I headed down East North and into the park to catch the trail. Falls Park was packed so I climbed on up the hill and got out to Augusta to River Street to get back to the trail. I hustled up the trail and Stopped on campus at Furman to see the end of the Dayton vs Furman baseball game. Furman was winning 7-3 in the top of the 8th when I arrived and they ended up winning 9-3. From there I headed up the trail into Tr and on out to th eend of the trail. I had the computer on average speed and watched my speed rise and fall. I was at 13.5 going into Cleveland Park and 11.1 once I got back on the trail. I was at 12.5 when I got to the game and 12.3 by the time I was finally off campus. TR was packed so my speed kept falling but it was at 12.5 again by the time I was at the north end. I hustled back down the trail and had it back to 13.1 by Blue Ridge and kept it there until I reached Falls Park. It dropped to 12.8 by the time I was out of the park and dropped to 12.7 after climbing the big hills to get home. I stopped going north at Cedar Lane as I girl was stopped with her chain off. Today was also little kid day. I had several instances of little kids blocking the trail. I am especially careful around little kids and today was the day for it! I don't scold them but try to encourage them on the trail. Too many people act like they are just in the way then their parents yell at them and that makes the trail no fun at all for them. I also saw a woman ride off the trail and wreck into a ditch, so it was an odd ride!!
