Finished up the job and headed back to NY. Would have liked to have ridden more in the south while I was there but weather was rather unpleasant. While temperatures occasionally climbed out of the forties, the wind was seldom less than twenty miles an hour. I also had a couple of non-cycling relayed injuries that kept me off the bike. Time off was not kind though as the injuries seem to take forever to heal, and the inactivity just caused the weight to continuously climb. Thought I might start hitting the weights and riding the computrainer until the weather breaks and the injuries mend. A favorable weather forecast had me venture out today and try my luck back on the bike. I had a good bit of pain lifting my leg over the top tube, but once that was accomplished, I had no further pain on the bike. Intended to just spin around town for ten miles until I found out it was actually much nicer than the forecast predicted. Since things were going better than expected I decided to see how the legs felt on a climb and headed out of Watkins on the climb to Reading Center. I expected pain on the climbs since I haven't been able to climb stairs without pain for the last month, but none was evident even out of the saddle. Climb was not expectedly a beautiful thing. I ran out of wind as soon as I hit the grade. Once I got to the top, opted to do the long downgrade through Rockstream and back to Watkins. Weather remained nice and had the most pleasant ride I've had in a few months. Still have a long road ahead of me to get back in decent shape.
