I rode the Surly from home to the trail at Hillside, then rode north to Travelers Rest. Somewhere on the ride I saw Don Y with a group. I stopped at Leopard Forest where I had a latte with unsweetened almond milk. I also ate a bag of mixed nuts and had 4 date balls. My blood sugar was 111 when I finished. Without the dates and carbs it would have been dangerously low. The wind was moderate but not bad. I went by Lakeside Elementary and took Old Buncombe Road and got in an extra climb. I'm still pretty slow, but I'm making progress.
