Returned to White Springs and did the longer loop this week. The rain had cooled things off last night and temperature was in the low sixties, and the air was very humid. Winds were forecast to be from the north but that turned out not to work out as a good ESE was blowing. First part of route of riding on lowly frequented roads through fairly isolated areas around the potash mine but quickly found myself on route six where traffic was still light, but it usually passed me by at a high rate of speed. Had planned on doing some intervals on the highway to Jasper but couldn't quite convince the body it was a good idea and ended up just doing some more easy spinning. Had also planned on cruising back to White Springs from Jasper aided by the predicted north wind but ended up struggling a bit in a strong southern headwind. Stayed fairly dry today as it never rained but did have occasional dripping of the helmet from the high humidity. Today's plan never came together but it still was a decent touring ride. It was my last planned ride in Florida as it is time to head back to Texas and go back to work.
