I magically became a lot faster and stronger overnight. I averaged almost 14 mph on the way to work this morning, instead of the normal 9-11 mph. Not to bad for a stop-and-go commute. It's amazing how much stronger a person can become overnight.
Well, maybe it had something to do with wearing one less layer of clothing. Or, maybe it had something to do with wearing summer cycling shoes instead of winter cycling boots. Or, maybe that new unsalted chain I installed yesterday was a factor. Or, perhaps replacing those knobby studded snow tires (with anti-flat tire liners) with smooth summer road tires was a factor.
No, those are probably not the reasons why I was so much faster this morning. It's because I got stronger overnight. Yeah, that's the ticket--I'm a lot stronger. Hope springs eternal.
