Sun was out today but winds were blowing hard out of the south. Had the day free to ride and decided to head into the wind and check out some new territory. While my legs were heavy just a few hours ago today they felt great and had good snap. Kept a high cadence into the headwind and was surprised of the good time I was making. Ended up missing a couple of turns and had to do some backtracking but didn't really mind as the sun felt so good on my body. Most of the riding seem to occur in horse country rather than cattle as saw many, many horses but few bovines. Saw a few goats along the way. Kept good speed for a couple of hours before I started to tire a little and pace started falling. Turned around after forty just south of Scurry and caught the tailwind back through Gray Prarie but didn't see much increase in speed. Did quite a bit of rubbernecking since I no longer had to keep my head low. Took another wrong turn late in the ride and ended up having to backtrack again, but didn't mind as had lots of water and looked at it as bonus miles. Finished with a little over eighty miles and still felt strong at the end of the ride.
