I rode in today with the temps in the high 50s wearing only my jersey and shorts. During the day I heard that a police officer had been killed serving gang related warrents and the killer had run to the trail and killed himself when he was surrounded. He killed himself on the Hincapie section of the trail that I had ridden that morning. The trail was closed on the way home today and I skirted around it. I stopped at either end and spoke with officers. I did take a new path going home by turning by Sara Collins over to Pleasantburg and riding the sidewalk to Cleveland. It cut the top off that big hill, but the sidewalk was a little rough.
