Made my return to Texas but haven't gotten much riding in as it was quite rainy earlier in the week, and when it was sunny and in the seventies I was at work. Had some time today to ride and although it was cloudy and had rained earlier in the day, I had a decent window to get a short ride in. Roads were still fairly wet and storm clouds and impending rain was always pleasanter but lucked out and stayed dry. Headed down to Crandall and tried to get aggressive on the mild climbs early in the ride. Was fairly pleased with the early effort and glad to see my heart rate climb above my normal maximum. Had a strong ten miles before bogging down in a two mile headwind in a section near Crandall. Didn't seem to recover well after that and spun up the long grades toward Talty. I was very pleased to see that the bridge work has finally been completed and ride is greatly improved by not having to wait at those accursed construction lights whose sensors never seemed to be able or willing to notice my bike and me. Had hoped to do some decent speed as in the days of old after turning near Talty but again couldn't seem to generate any speed again. Decent ride on a cool, humid day.
