Quite a bit more sun today that was accompanied by more wind. Did two climbs today albeit poorly along with eighteen miles of headwind. Started off with Havana Glen and it actually went well at first and hoped I could spin my way over the top. Legs must be tired after yesterday's climbing as I lost all momentum as the grade went over fifteen percent and spent the next half mile struggling along. Crested with a 6.7 avg which is well below an acceptable 7 at this time of year. Had good spin to Alpine but didn't develop much speed into a head/cross wind. Things got bad heading up Sullinville Hill as it was straight into the wind. Couldn't spin and severely bogged down on the climb. The wind seemed to affect me more than the grade though so I really don't claim it as bad climbing. Had another ten miles of nasty headwind after the climb which was negated a little by the downgrade. Was happy to get into Horseheads as at least the houses provided a little cover from the wind. Looked forward to a strong tailwind on the way back to Montour on SR14 but it never materialized. At best I had a following cross at times. Ended up working much harder today than I did on yesterday's climbing adventure. At least there was abundant sunshine that was most welcome after the long cold winter.
