I've Got Something to Say
|
Once again I did not ride to work, on a Friday, because of the work being completed on my house. If it hadn't rained yesterday the crew would have been here and would have finished.
They have the last two parts to complete, but I need them to also look at the back garage door - binding in the frame when it closes - and adjusting the soffit/fascia over the front storm door - the top of the door rubs & catches it when being opened.
The back garage door itself needs to be replaced, not just because its brown (the old trim color) but because the bottom of it is rotting. The solid wood door will be replaced with a 6-panel steel clad door, painted white to match the trim & the other exterioer doors.
Needless to say, we are very satisfied with the look, and the quality of the job that was done.
One little added plus: when I redid the roof back in 2001, I was lazy about triming the shingles that hung over both (east & west) edges of the house. Raul, the worker that did a majority of the work on the two ends of the house, took the extra time, though it probably took all of 10 extra minutes total, to trim the shingles. I wonder if he did so just from the mindset that the 'shabby' look of the jagged shingles would distract or demean the nice new look of the siding/soffit/fascia - his otherwise completed masterpiece. Much appreciated none the less - it was one thing I was going to do this spring.
