I am still very tired from too many hours at work and too little sleep, but I decided to head out to the Donaldson Center and try riding Perimeter road out there. I pulled into a small parking lot where a couple of vehicle with bike racks were parked and a bike pulled in behind me. The rider Jeffrey talked to me for a few minutes and told me about the Greenville Spinners Tuesday night rides. I knew that they had started but have never gone out there to ride with them. They have several different groups that ride from the heavy duty road racers down to beginners. I would like to try the beginner group that rides at 12-14 mph for 24 miles. That would finish around 8 p.m. and would get me to bed late, but I'd like to try it.
When I rode tonight the wind felt like a had a drag chute out first 3.5 miles. I felt like I couldn't get up to speed even riding downhill. But I did end up over 13 mph for the ride. The road was rougher than I am accustomed to riding. I guess that I am spoiled by the riding trails. I can tell that I am still very tired when I go to ride, but if I can ride through the tired days I should be able to ride through most anything.
