Tonight's ride home was quite a rush!
The wind out of the SSW at 16 mph, gusting to 25, provided a nice tailwind helping push me home. On top of that, perfect timing at the traffic light at Scudder & Hanley allowed me to continue my momentum thru the intersection and accelerate up the hill before the road started its descent down to Airport Rd. The timing was perfect with that light too, allowing me to fly right thru that intersection at 31 mph, right on the heals (uh, bumpers) of the cars that had to wait for the light to turn. A car gave thought and started an attempt to pass me in the last couple hundred yards before that intersection, but my speed and a longer line of cars in the left thru lane gave cause for the drive to give up the idea before they could even pull even with me - so they decelerated and pulled back into the right hand lane behind me so they could make a right turn at the intersection.
I got a bonus ride in this evening too. I did a quick 3.5 mile ride to/from getting my haircut. Whoot!
