I took off this morning intending to put down some miles to prepare for Don's ride to the river house. I went out on my Fairforest /ICAR route but added 21 miles from Jonathan's ride for Mike route on out to Woodruff Toad and back. When I stopped at the north end of the downtown airport runway there was a very odd looking plane sitting on the main runway and the planes were using the crossing runway. The wind was right for the crossing runway so that wasn't so odd. I couldn't figure out what kind of plane was sitting on the runway, but a fire truck with its lights flashing came out and parked next to it. I rode around to the other side of the runway and still couldn't tell what it was. S I rode over to the main terminal and a high wing airplane had the front gear collapse and was sitting on its nose.
