High winds were forecast again for today but not as severe as last Friday. Wasn't too thrilled about heading out into it again but as the last two days were cold and damp, heavy rain tomorrow and snow the day after, I thought I should get some miles in. Went out on my usual nasty south wind course up Fitzpatrick hill. Climbed a little faster then I had last time and crested with a nine average. Didn't think I would be able to do much in the headwind but although it was blowing steady at twenty it didn't have the forty mile an hour gusts like last week. I had good leg speed and had gotten the average up to thirteen as I turned out of the wind. Thought I should be able to make my default sixteen six goal as I would only have to keep a twenty one mile an hour average with a twenty mile an hour tailwind. Was able to keep the pace at twenty five for the last ten miles and finished with a seventeen one. I was able to keep the speed up today as I didn't have to dodge road debris. I guess everything that wasn't tied down ended up in Canada last Friday. Legs felt good and had a good day on bike despite the adverse condition.'
