While riding up Ashland, from Graceland Ave to Lackland Rd, I spotted, in my peripheral vision, what looked like a squirrel scampering in the tree tops the stretched across the street at the top of the hill. When I looked directly up at it, I realized it was actually an eagle landing on the branch, right over the center of the road. I kept an eye on it as I rolled up the road, and sure enough as soon as I got about 10-15 yards below it, it turned and flew south, towards Lackland Rd and on over into the trees across Midland. As I was reaching the intersection at Lackland, and the eagle was landing in a tree across the way, another eagle took flight from a tree over my head and made its way in the general direction of the first eagle.
Would have been a good time to have a camera with me!
