It was probably one of the few days in the next week or so it won't be raining so took off from work early to get some miles in despite the steady thirty miles an hour wind. Gave up on the big chainring that I've been riding for the last week and put my headdown and pedalled off for a slow twenty miles straight into the wind. Legs are still a little worn from the weekend and it was a struggle at times to keep moving. Made the turn at the access road to I-45 then headed back up the east beltline road that is actually a highway inside the Dallas city limits but there aren't really many buildings on it and very little traffic. Felt great on the slight climbs on the way back as the tailwind had me spinning effortlessly over the crests. Not sure how safe it is to bicycle around here but it is definitely not safe to drive. Passed a few serious auto crashes on the road today. Two appeared to be basic collision\failure to merge but one may be wind related as a van appeared to have rolled and torn itself apart. Really had no encounters with autos today as traffic was very light once I got a couple miles out of Forney proper.
