Woke up to bright sunshine today afer four hours sleep for today's adventure. Temperature was finally back into the eighties and though tired I was anxious to get on the bike. Started off into stiff south wind and really wanted to ride fast today but it just didn't happen. I was unable to hold my spin and lost momentum 3/4 up the climb and my legs got real heavy. Kept it going as best I could until the halfway point and decided to add some miles and made a right instead of the left I've been making everyday for the last two weeks. Was excited when I saw some new cows (I guess they are actual cattle here in Texas)and waved to the ladies. Then I noticed a familar horse in the field and realized these were the same cows I pass on the grind most days. I figured they must have a really big pasture which I guess is the norm in Texas. Had to push another three miles into the headwind before turning in Crandall and catching a tailwind back. Hit some construction south of Talty again,so I probably won't come out this way again until the fall. Average speed increased as I did the run back into town and had fun pushing the big gear to finish the day.
