Don put out a call for riders to meet and climb Paris Mountain and come back into town via Piney Mountain. I was really worried about climbing the TR side of the mountain as it whipped me the last time I tried it and I am heavier now than I was then. I headed down to the Main Street Bi-Lo to meet Don and the wind was surprisingly stout. We headed out Old Buncombe and the wind was really kicking us around. It was either beating us down head on or knocking us around from the side. I was pooped before we got to the mountain. We finally got to Altamont and turned up the mountain. The ebbs and flows of climbing are kind of funny as Don is faster than me in some places and I am faster than Don in other places. But we made it up. Don is a more confident climber than I am so he never had a doubt. Ten came the run down the other side of the mountain and across State Park Road to Piney Mountain. We took that to Rutherford to Zhick Springs and back over to Park Avenue then to Don's place. I thanked him for the ride and headed for home about a mile short of my quarter, so I cut off on Lowndes Hill and picked up so,e extra mileage then headed home with my 25 miles in. The wind and the climb were both killers!
