No not like an Easter Mass. Like a Mass Exodus...thank you Spartacus.
As for me, I've been super busy with a lot of personal issues/stuff/goings on so the bike rides have been theraputic. Hmm.....that could be ...should be...might be a blog topic.
Just went to visit some of my ol bike buds on here such as Kin, Rustaitai, etc. and since they seem to be hanging out on Facebook, their blog entries have dried up like a withered prune. I had another image in mind....let that one go.
In Shanghai and using the MTB for geocaching. Per my GPS from point A to point B to point C as the "crow flies" was a mere 8 to 12 miles. Getting to those points through Shanghai streets took close to 25 miles and 3 hours. Ain't exploring great?
I miss my bent. The MTB is far better suited to cycling streets and traffic, but heading into a fierce headwind I was yearning for the aerodynamics of me bent. Yessirreee Bob.
I miss brevets. Because I've got some med stuff to deal with, I have to hang close to ground zero. That meant I couldn't head out to AZ for a brevet that looked intersting. Nor could I fly to NJ for another one that looked really fun. And now that I'm in Shanghai I'm missing the close ones in Florida. So yeah, I'm missing brevets big time. Not so much for the cycling, but for the "can I do this" challenges that come with a brevet: Physical. Mental. Emotional.
I miss Oregon: The same med stuff means I've got to stick close to Miami when in the states. I want to be in Oregon, cycling where there are mountains on the horizon, streams to my left, or even in the city where there are miles and smiles of bike paths when it is nice to meander lazily along enjoying the scenery.
I miss those who used to post on Bike Journal.
