Ride Description: "Do The Rock" Race... Muddiest conditions I've ever ridden in. The park trails are not even open yet. They probably should not have run the race, but as bad as it was, I don't think it would have been much better next week. A lot of damage was done to the trails today.
Still it was fun. After "cleaning" the first 2 mud sections, my chain kept coming off and the rear derailleur was so gummed up with mud, I was getting real bad chain suck, so I walked most of the mud sections after that. I was frustrated, so I just went into Sunday cruise ride mode. Rode with a couple of kids, maybe 8-10 years old, we were having a good time.
Legs were very tired.

Forgot to put on HR Monitor. My time was 5 minutes slower than last year, but considering the mud, chain problems, crashing and taking it easy, I'd say the spin classes helped quite a bit. |
