Yesterday was fairly windy and took the day off from riding and hit the weights instead. Wanted to ride aggressively today but was a little hesitant on the steep section of Old Odessa hill and stayed pretty much in the saddle. Legs seemed to have some strength in them as I did the second grade part of the climb and finished the hill a little on the slow side with an eleven seven average. Did much better on the grade out of Odessa and made up what I lost on the first section to get me back to an average pace. Section to Mechlenberg went really well even though I was pushing a little headwind. Legs were spinning clean and occasionally popped into the thirties on some of the downgrades. Didn't really gain much time wise but it felt great to ride with clean legs. Had an average climb on the first climb out of Mechlenberg losing a half mile on the climb that is normal. Picked up the speed on the second section and downhill though. Math said that an eighteen was within reach and kept the pace I needed to until I hit a unexpected stiff headwind out of Bennettsburg toward Burdett and that ended the party. Ended up having a seventeen four heading into Watkins but due to traffic and lights ended up at seventeen two. Pushed the last two miles to Montour hard but didn't have much speed left in the legs. Was quite happy with the climbing for a change as although it wasn't terribly fast I had good sections and recovered well.
