Planned group ride for the morning fizzled out as the temperature was ten degrees colder than predicted on last night's forecast, and there was a fog warning issued for the county. I ended up riding alone into a rather cold forty-six degrees with one hundred percent humidity. The saving grace was that the wind was barely blowing. I did cut down the intended sixty plus course down to a forty five with less climbing as not to spend too long outside. First mile was rather unpleasant and thought I would spend most of the ride guessing which body part is colder. Once I got going though it really wasn't too bad as I was dressed appropriately. I thought it would be fine as long as I could keep moving. Headed out on the Chubb Hollow course which its mainly one good climb and some rollers with a couple of short kickers along the way. Stood up all the way up Pine Street and rather than cracking the legs actually recovered quickly once I got over the steep section. Remainder of climb was not too bad as I kept a steady pace into a light headwind. Rode into a cloud just past Reading Center. The moisture particles were too small to be visible to my eyes, but I could feel them hitting my face and hear them hitting my jacket. Really was kind of neat. Ended up pushing the downhill into Dundee, but although I made a fifteen average, it came later than it did on my last run of this course. Rest of the ride wasn't too bad as it began to dry up a little north of Himrod, and I turned out of the wind and onto the downhill section. Spent a good deal of the section back to Glenora waving to the children in the numerous Amish buggies that were returning from their Sunday Service. Pushed the last ten miles at a good pace and that resulted in the highest steady heart rate of the day which surprised me as I had expected it would be on the climb. Ended up mildly chilled but very satisfied and glad I went on the ride
