Ride your bike like you drive your car
I was a little disgusted with one of two cyclist on my way home this evening. As I crossed Lackland and descended the little hill down to the Midland intersection, I could see my light turning green with a car waiting to turn left and one waiting to go striaght. As the vehicles cleared the intersection, and I continued my approach, a couple cyclist approached from my left, heading west on Midland. They slowed down enough to let the car go by, then one of them peddled on through the intersection and pointed me out to the other cyclist. I expressed my opinion to the one, saying "Your light isn't green." She agreed, somewhat apologetically...

My philosophy, in accordance with the law, is to ride your bike like you are driving your car (obey the same rules) and drive your car like you are riding your bike.

Note: it was another strange Wednesday commute home - normally I go to church for mid-week activities on Wednesday. But today there was a power failure at church this morning due to faulty lines on the grounds. There was a similar problem with the 3-phase supply a few months back; this time it was the single phase wires. A temporary solution has been implemented, while waiting for a quote for the permanent fix. Still, no activites at FFBC tonight.
