Another cold front is on its way and the temperature was decent at the start but gradual dropped as the ride progressed. Started out doing some climbing today with a two climb ride to Mecklenburg. I really didn't push very hard up Old Odessa but kept a steady pressure on the pedals and stayed in the saddle. Really wasn't a very good climb and time check at the top confirmed it. Still was satisfied that instead of being slow and painful as most recent climbs have been, it was only slow. Did better on the long grade out of Odessa and felt pretty good. The north wind today kept the speed down a little on the downgrade to Mecklenburg but pushed a big gear and build up some speed. Set a reasonable goal over the second climb and was able to achieve and picked up all the speed I lost on the downside of the climb. Picked up a tailwind for the rest of the ride and had a made a good effort. North wind started to really cool things off at the end of the ride and hands got numb from the cold and wind chill on the long fast descent to Watkins but not to the point of pain. Had a pretty low average speed for the effort I put it but felt that legs are getting a little stronger and plan on starting to ramp up my efforts.
