Planned on doing a long slow ride with one early climb to gain elevation then a sixty miles plus easy day of flatland. Fully intended to push the first seven miles of climb then relax. Plan changed as soon as I hit the base of the climb and stood up. Legs seem to have been tenderized, and so I sat down and decided I would be taking it easy on the hill too. With the tone set for the day I spun up the climb then spun leisurely into the next twenty miles of headwind. Wind was blowing at a good clip, but it didn't seem to have much force to it and so enjoyed the ride in bright sunshine with the temperature rising for the first time of the year into the mid-seventies. Had fairly good results with the numerous traffic lights in Corning for a change. Rest of the ride was more of the same with no excitement. Usually see a few riders on the River Road and 352 back to Elmira, but today it was a barren wasteland bereft of riders. It clouded up and started to spit a few raindrops on me as I turned into a tailwind in Elmira. It was warm drops though and didn't cause any grief. Legs started to feel a little better on run back to Montour and did a couple of good burns on the downgrade. Overall a good ride and hopefully burned of some winter fat.
