Cold and rain have passed and got back out on the bike. It felt really warm for sixty degrees but the twenty plus mile an hour wind would prove to be a challenge today. Repeated Tuesday's ride to Mecklenburg but put pushed much harder today. Started the climb out of the saddle, but it didn't last very long and was out of breath after a tenth of a mile. Still recovered quickly and spun the rest of the two mile long hill and cut a good chunk out of my last time. The tailwind helped on the next climb and actually pushed a big gear up the grade. Faltered a little on the kicker at the tail end of the climb. Had a blast on the downgrade to Mecklenburg as the combination of the big gear and blistering tailwind pushed the speeds up into the low thirties. Wasn't able to hold it all the way but still was loads of fun. Second real climb of the day was a little disappointing but the high speeds had pushed my average high enough that I could tolerate a mediocre climb and still beat Tuesday's time by a large gap. Wind didn't bother me too much through the rollers to Burdett. Picked up a pretty good shimmy on the fast downhill to Watkins. It was the first shimmy I've ever experienced with this Look frame. Lost quite a bit off the average going through the traffic in Watkins and really dragged up into the headwind to Montour but still cut ten minutes off Tuesday's time, Was very satisfied with a high heart rate effort for the entire thirty mile ride.
