Another cool ride with moderate wind. First eleven miles was uphill but had a good tailwind and climbed fairly well though comfortably. Goal was to average eighteen miles an hour on the predominately flat course. Kept the head down and had a strong ride to Corning but then things fell apart. Lost a big chunk of my average speed in the stop & go traffic in Corning proper. Thought I could pick it up on the ride down River Road then back down SR 14 to Elmira but never really got back up to speed. Barely held the average through Elmira when I really needed to pick it up. Didn't do much work either on the downgrade but still had a pleasant ride finishing over seventeen but far short of my goal.
