Had a steady 32 mph wind with gusts up to 36 mph today and seriously considered taking the day off. Decided instead to just ride about town at an easy pace for ten or twelve miles and call it a day. Started into the wind and legs would barely turn the cranks and I thought it would take all day to get twelve miles in with the wind that strong. Ducked into a vacant parking lot and tried to do a few laps, but really wasn't into it and could not get into a rhythm. Headed back to the motel and picked up my mp3 player. Not sure in headphones are legal in Texas but didn't think anyone would bother me. Cranked up some NIN and started ticking off the miles. Had a great time listening to Reznor, Bauhaus, Motorhead and Alice Cooper. Ended up doing over 160 laps on a 0.15 mile course in the hot sun. Would have kept going but had used up all my time and had to head for the barn. Thunderstorms are forecast for tonight with the temperature dropping 20 or 30 degrees and the wind shifting to the north.
