Took yesterday off to rest and decided on doing some steep climbing today. Headed up Jackson Hill for the first of many climbs and had a decent climb to Catherine. Kept climbing well up through Beardsley Hollow until I got to the fifteen percent stuff where I couldn't keep the leg speed up and though I didn't grind to a stop I think I came pretty close. Had a good downhill to Horseheads and pushed a big gear with a killer tailwind back to Watkins and kept the speed up high. Kept going through to Watkins and then climbed up Old Corning. Legs were a little sore after pushing the big gear for fifteen miles but legs did respond and spun up it nicely though didn't set any records. Next climb was old Odessa and surprisingly climbed well on the steep section and after cresting the steep section saw a pair of riders about a half mile ahead of me on the five percent section. Climbed hard to catch them and did finally catch them near the base of the next climb up Lower Foots Hill. They turned before the next climb and I kept heading on up. Legs pretty much gave out on steep section of this climb and had to spin it out as had nothing left out of the saddle. Caught the tailwind again across the top of the world to Burdett. Finished off the fifty mileplus ride with a push through the headwind home. Really didn't have much of an average speed but did some quality climbing today.
