Wanted to get a medium length course in but still had sore legs. Planned on riding a relaxed pace through Chubb Hollow and hopefully letting my legs recover. Sun was out but it was still a bit on the chilly side with a nasty north wind howling. Avoided the wind and spun up the Steuben St climb to Reading Center. Was hesitant to do this route for fear of a rampaging St Bernard between Irelandville and Reading Center, but the fear was baseless as he wasn't around today. Made a fairly easy climb and hoped to pick up some time on the downhill to Dundee, but the wind was merciless and struggled on the down hill. Climb up Chubb Hollow was most unpleasant as the wind seemed to be funneled down the valley. Had kept the computer on heart rate so as not to get involved chasing numbers but was able to do some basic math and covering twenty three miles in almost two hours was not impressive, Ride back from Himrod was fairly fast with the massive tailwind, but even though I wasn't really hammering my heart rate kept steadily ramping up. Ended up with the "thanks for playing" fifteen average which wasn't too bad considering where I was at the turn around point. After the ride my computer was nice enough to let me know that the ride had both impacted my aerobic and anaerobic training levels. I finally got a hard work out on my supposed recovery ride.
