Solar Eclipse prediction from the area went from edge of total eclipse to partial eclipse to can't see anything through the clouds. Caught a south tail wind and headed north to Glenora a couple hours prior to the eclipse. Since they moved the zone due to incorrectly estimating the diameter of the sun or some such thing, traffic was heavy out of Watkins as people were heading up the lake for a better viewing. Didn't do much on the climb as raced hard yesterday on the computrainer and am still focusing on losing weight. Just tried to keep the average around fifteen. Went over the ridge to Dundee and climbed back toward Watkins. It was starting to get dusky as I rode back through Watkins and the wind really picked up. I read that the temperature could drop as much as twenty degrees during the eclipse, and that the rapid temperature change would produce heavy winds. Got the heavy winds but didn't notice much of a temperature change. Struggled back to Montour and finished off the ride. Got pretty quiet and dark during the actual event but cloud cover caused the ride and the eclipse to be less than ideal. Got some miles in.
