Four days of cool to cold weather with abundant rain and a few snow showers came to an end today and was replaced with actual spring weather. After four days of lounging around and stuffing my face in a bout of laziness and ill health, I paid dearly for the sloth as I struggled up the first steep climb. Carrying way too much weight to climb effectively. Sun and sixties were pluses but the wind was too blustery for me to get comfortable on the bike. Replaced my Edge 305 with an Edge 810 I got for Christmas as the 305 batteries are nearing the end of their life. Played with the 810 but had difficulty navigating the screens. Nice display but need to spend some time setting it up properly. Second part of the six mile climb improved with a strong tailwind and actually pushed the big gears on the downgrade through the valley. Second climb was better than the first but back started to cause some problems before the top. Wind wasn't as much of a factor as the hills and I gave out well before the finish and ended up spinning the last few miles at an easy pace. Legs felt strong today but still couldn't get a strong spin going. Saw one other rider today as I finished the ride. Wasn't sure whether she was a road disciple or an around towner though.
